September US CPI report: US price data cements October rate cut: Wall Street

The consumer price index increased 0.3 per cent on a seasonally adjusted basis in September, after rising 0.4 per cent in August, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.
Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 3.0 per cent before seasonal adjustment. Note that September CPI data collection was completed before the federal government shutdown began.
