‘Wicked: For Good’ Star Ethan Slater Signs With Verve (EXCLUSIVE)

Ethan Slater has signed with Verve for representation, Variety has learned exclusively. Slater continues to be repped by ATA Management, Jackoway Austen, and Jill Fritzo PR.
News of the signing comes roughly two weeks ahead of the premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” which hits theaters on Nov. 21. Slater will reprise the role of Boq Woodsman in the film after playing the character in 2024’s smash hit feature version of “Wicked.”
“Wicked” went on to gross over $750 million at the global box office, earning rave reviews from critics and winning two Academy Awards for best costume design and best production design. It was also nominated for best picture, while leads Cynthia Erivo and Arianna Grande were nominated for best actress and best supporting actress respectively.
Slater is an accomplished actor on both stage and screen. He is best known for his theater work to date, including landing a Tony Award nomination and winning both a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award for best leading actor in a musical for playing the title role in the Broadway musical “SpongeBob Squarepants.” His other notable stage roles include “Spamalot” and the off-Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins.” He will next appear in the off-Broadway play “Marcel on the Train,” which he wrote with Marshall Pailet.
Onscreen, Slater is known for appearing in shows like “Gen V” at Amazon, “Elsbeth” on CBS, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Fosse/Verdon,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” He is also currently developing a feature inspired by the life of Buster Keaton.
