Hospital workers fighting for life after crash

Two workers at a Sydney hospital are fighting for life after being struck by a car outside the building’s main entrance.

Police say the pair were hit by a car outside Concord Hospital at about 10am on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man – both employees at the hospital – were critically injured.

The woman was transported to Westmead Hospital and the man was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Police say a 59-year-old woman was driving a black Mazda CX5 when it mounted the footpath and hit the pedestrians.

She has been taken to Concord Hospital to undergo mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established, with specialist officers from the crash investigation unit investigating the crash.
