International Championship snooker LIVE – Taylor leads O’Sullivan with Trump to follow

TRUMP INTO LAST 16 DESPITE LACKLUSTRE DISPLAY

Judd Trump made just two breaks over fifty, but still eased into the fourth round of the International Championship with victory over Noppon Saengkham.

The first two frames were no foreshadowing of the mediocre snooker to follow as Saengkham made a frame-winning 73, with Trump responding next with a 79.

The next four frames followed the same path, with Saengkham having a good chance to win after mistakes from Trump, but stumbled near the finishing line, allowing ‘The Ace in the Pack’ to move to the brink of winning.

Saengkham then made a 66 and won a scrappy ninth to make it 5-3, before Trump made a classy 119 to secure victory.

Elsewhere, Ding Junhai made two centuries in building a 5-1 lead over Liam Highfield, but was pegged back to 5-4 before a break of 85 secured victory.

Mark Selby and Neil Robertson also put their names into Round 4 with 6-3 wins over Daniel Wells and Yuan Sijun respectively, while Shaun Murphy joins them after a 6-4 win over Elliott Slessor.
