The recall is for the 121g bags as they may contain peanuts

The warning relates to the 121g pack size with any best-before date and covers England, Scotland and Wales.

Aldi has apologised to its customers for the recall.

A spokesman for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: “As a precautionary measure, Aldi is recalling Dairyfine Crispy Choc Um’s because the product may contain peanuts.

“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

“Aldi is recalling the product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

“The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”

An Aldi spokesman added: “Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your cooperation.

The move comes after Home Bargains urgently recalled some of its popular chocolate bars over a potentially deadly “health risk”.

Chocolate bars being recalled include the Milka Hazelnut, Milka Whole Nut, and Milka Oreo Brownie bars.

The Milka products have been found to not list ingredients contained like nuts, soya, wheat and gluten on their packaging in English.

In October, M&S had to urgently recall one of its popular chocolate snacks due to a potentially life-threatening allergen.

Shoppers were warned to avoid packs of the luxury retailer’s Milk Chocolate Honeycomb due to undeclared peanuts.

M&S  removed the 120g packs from shelves over fears they pose a health risk to peanut allergy sufferers.

Customers were also urged to return products with the barcode number 0917568/29143603.

The move by Aldi comes just days after the supermarket chain had to issue two major recall notices in just two days.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced that Aldi will pull all its Panatas part-baked six-pack custard Tarts because of undeclared allergens.

The packaging error means it could pose a health risk to those with allergies.

Just two days earlier, Aldi was forced to recall its £3.99 steaks from store shelves.

The FSA announced that Aldi was pulling its Ashfields 30 Day Matured Thin Cut Beef Steaks because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

The latest recalls come just days after the chain was forced to pull Gianni ‘s Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream because it contains wheat, though it likewise didn’t state it on the packaging.
