Sharks Ryan Reaves Drops Gloves With Matt Rempe In Heavyweight Tilt

Last night, San Jose Sharks forward Ryan Reaves dropped the gloves a massive heavyweight tilt against New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe.
The fight had fans in the arena on their feet as well as hockey fans on social media loving it. Two big, tough players were going toe-to-toe at Madison Square Gardens at center ice, throwing absolute haymakers.
The fight lasted about 40 seconds on total, with Reaves getting the upper-hand in the bout. One of the announcers on the national broadcast pointed out that Reaves and Rempe shared some sort of conversation during warmups that could have sparked the fight early in the first period.
After the game, Reaves spoke with reporters and confirmed that when he was talking to Artemi Panarin, Rempe approached him and asked if he wanted one. He responded with “Yeah, maybe”
He also told reporters that Rempe initially asked him to go off the face-off, but he had other plans. Here’s what he said: “Well he asked me if I wanted to go off the draw and I said I was gonna run somebody first.”
This is the second fight between these two, with the first one coming last year when Reaves was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now, of a member of the Sharks, he has shown why they brought him in, in this massive fight against Rempe.
