AUS vs IND, 3rd ODI: Shreyas Iyer suffers injury while completing stunning catch

Shreyas Iyer appeared to suffer an injury while completing a stunning catch to dismiss Alex Carey in the third ODI between India and Australia in Sydney on Saturday.

Shreyas showed excellent athleticism to complete a catch tracking back over his shoulder to remove Carey off the bowling of Harshit Rana in the 34th over of the first innings.

However, he showed immediate signs of discomfort after completing the catch, remaining on the floor holding his side rather than getting up. He was then pictured leaving the field in the drinks break taken immediately after the wicket.

It is not yet clear whether Iyer will return to the field or bat in the second innings.

India is seeking a consolatory victory in the match at Sydney, having already surrendered an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been under the microscope for their form, although Rohit eased some of the pressure with a half-century in the second ODI.
