Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve sussed out who will bring down Becky Swain, and it’s a familiar face making a comeback.
Becky (Amy Cudden) first graced our screens in September as the allegedly deceased spouse of Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). The narrative was that Becky, a police officer, had been tragically killed in 2021 whilst pursuing a criminal who ran her over during their escape.
In the aftermath of her ‘demise’, Lisa and their daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) endeavoured to move forward, all the while mourning the loss of Becky. This year saw Lisa become engaged to Carla Connor (Alison King), with everything appearing rosy for the loved-up pair.
However, the plot thickened when it was revealed that Becky was actually alive. Upon her return, she dropped the bombshell on a stunned Lisa that she ‘had to die’ to enter witness protection following a botched undercover operation.
Becky’s been causing plenty of trouble
Since then, the crafty Becky has been hell-bent on reuniting her family – and she won’t let anyone, including Carla, stand in her way. Things took a dramatic turn last week when Becky, in a bid to drive a wedge between Lisa and Carla, planted a kiss on Lisa at the Rover’s Halloween bash, reports the Daily Star.
In Friday’s episode (November 7), corrupt copper DI Costello (Daon Broni) warned Becky that she needs to hotfoot it back to Spain pronto. But Becky remained resolute, insisting she wasn’t going anywhere without Lisa and Betsy.

Now, with Becky determined to stir up trouble for Carla and Lisa, viewers are speculating that a familiar face from the cobbles might return to help bring her down.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person proposed Carla’s half-sister Kate Connor (Faye Brooks). They wrote: “They should bring back Kate Connor I’m sure she would help Carla take down Becky!”. A second agreed: “Oooo yes I loved her.” A third chimed in and mused: “Maybe for Carla’s wedding as well.”
Fans have predicted Kate’s return
Viewers will remember that Kate first appeared on the programme in 2015. She was last spotted in 2019 when she chose to depart Weatherfield following the tragic death of Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).
Actress Faye has previously spoken out about a return to the soap. When asked by OK! in 2023 about a comeback, she said: “I love that people are still asking that question.
“I adore that character so much that if I was to go back it would have to be a pretty big reason, but I actually love the way that Kate left and it’s exciting that I can go and pursue other roles now in TV and I just can’t wait to see what this year will bring.
