Manchester City to win & over 2.5 goals

Manchester City vs Brentford
EFL Cup, 7.30pm

Manchester City have been in fine form, winning five games in a row since their 2-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen and scoring 16 goals in the process. They should be able to extend that run when they host Brentford, who have lost seven of their eight away games in the Premier League this season.

Following their 1-1 draw with Leeds at the weekend, the Bees have only won one of their last five outings, against strugglers Burnley, and they look set for more misery at the Etihad. The EFL Cup has been a competition which the Citizens have dominated, winning five of the last ten finals, and they should be able to secure another semi-final berth even if they rotate with one eye on their league challenge.

Ten of Manchester City’s last 11 games have gone over 2.5 goals and this should be another high-scoring affair. The hosts were 2-1 winners the last time that they hosted Brentford and they are fancied to pick up another win which also produces over 2.5 goals.
