Thamma is scheduled for its theatrical release tomorrow i.e. on October 21, 2025, and the film, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role, will take the story forward in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Shakti Shalini, Bhediya 2 and Chamunda – 2026
Both Shakti Shalini and Chamunda are confirmed for 2026 release. Shakti Shalini, highly likely to feature Aneet Padda as the leading actress, will be the first to release (in early 2026). The movie was initially scheduled for December 31, 2025 release, but owing to major changes, there is some delay with the movie’s release.
While Bhediya’s second installment – Bhediya 2 – was slated for August 14, 2026 release, Dinesh Vijan told Galatta Plus that there’s a change in plan and Chamunda would release first. Thus, it is likely that Chamunda, reported to star Alia Bhatt in the leading role, takes the date set by Bhediya 2 previously.
Going by the latest schedule as revealed in the slate, Bhediya 2 is expected to be out on December 4, 2026 or by early 2027. The film could also mark Ayushmann’s comeback into the franchise, for Bhediya-Betaal’s clash is expected to be one of the highest moments in Thamma.
Chhoti Stree, Stree 3 and Maha Munjya – 2027
2027 will finally be the year when we would learn about Shraddha Kapoor’s character in Stree. During the recently held Thamma x Stree event, the actress had revealed that an animated film titled Chhoti Stree would actually expose her story, and Stree 3 would ultimately take things forward. There is currently no release date attached to Chhoti Stree, but Stree 3 is expected to be August 13, 2027 release. This will be followed by Munjya sequel aka Maha Munjya’s release on December 24, 2027.
MHCU films do not meet their end with Mahayudh – Thamma sequel also confirmed
By 2028, MHCU films will all come together, Marvel Cinematic Universe style. Pehla Mahayudh is scheduled for August 11, 2028 release and it will be followed by Doosra Mahayudh, which is likely to be out on October 18, 2028. Although it might appear to be the end of MHCU, the franchise will continue with Thamma 2 also releasing after Doosra Mahayudh. The release date for the sequel is not yet finalized, but it is likely to extend to 2029.
