Prediction, pick for Hyder Amil vs. Jamall Emmers

Ryan Wohl breaks down his best bet for Hyder Amil vs. Jamall Emmers at tonight’s UFC Fight Night.

Hyder Amil is attempting to get back on track when he takes on Jamall Emmers in the Featured Prelim of today’s UFC card. Emmers is 2-1 in his previous three contests, and this will be his second fight in 2025. Even though Emmers is only one year older, he has had 17 more fights in his career.

Check out my best bet for Hyder Amil vs. Jamall Emmers below.

Amil began his career 11-0 but suffered his first career loss against Jose Miguel Delgado in June at UFC 317. Before that, Amil won his first three contests in the UFC, with two coming by KO/TKO. Emmers beat Gabriel Miranda via knockout in his last bout in May, but hasn’t won two consecutive fights since 2020.

In this bout, Amil is a -142 favorite with Emmers being a +120 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. This fight is -275 not to go the distance.

Even though Emmers has the advantages on paper as he is taller (5’10” vs. 5’9″) with a larger standing reach (74″ vs. 70″), Amil is the better striker. Amil averages 6.84 significant strikes per minute, 1.39 more than Emmers, while being the more accurate striker. If Amil is aggressive like he was in his first three fights in the UFC, he should be able to get the better of Emmers in this contest.
