A mainstay character was tragically killed off in heartbreaking scenes on Tuesday night after 12 years on the show.

Peri Lomax has sadly been killed off in the soap after she got crushed by a ship chimney.
The chimney fell on her after an explosion went off and she attempted to save her loved ones.
Pushing Tom out of the way, Peri was struck by the chimney and fell to the ground.
Peri was conscious for a while, chatting with Tom and then her mum once she arrived, with the scenes extremely emotional.

Hollyoaks shock as HUGE character returns from the dead ahead of 30th
Fans were quick to react to the devastating moment and flocked to X.
“NOT MY PERI,” said one viewer.
Another penned: “Please tell me I’m not the only one in tears at Peri?”
“They’ve killed off Peri,” declared a third.
While a fourth said: “hollyoaks killing off peri has ruined my entire week.”
And a fifth penned: “Rip peri lomax.”
Peri Jade Lomax was the biological daughter of Leela Lomax and Cameron Campbell.
She was also the half-sister of Daniel Lomax and Noah and Clara Dexter.
Peri arrived in Hollyoaks with the Lomax family back in October 2013.
She faced a number of tough storylines while in the soap.
The heartbreaking storylines included Peri being diagnosed with a brain tumour after falling down the stairs in the village.
She also discovered that Danny Lomax, who she believed was her dad, was having an affair with John Paul McQueen.
This then led to her discovering Ste Hay was her brother and then was in fact her uncle when it was revealed her “sister”, Leela Lomax, was actually her biological birth mother.
Also in the soap, Peri got into a relationship with Abe Fielding and got raped by him while unconscious.
She then got a new sister called Clara who is named after Clara Oswald from Doctor Who as it was a Lomax tradition to name their children after Doctor Who Companions.
Ruby O’Donnell portrayed Peri since the character was introduced.

For her portrayal of Peri, she won the award for Best Young Performance at the 2016 British Soap Awards.
She is 24 years of age, currently, and will turn 27 later this month.
