Portland Trail Blazers coach and former Detroit Pistons player Chauncey Billups was arrested on charges connected to an illegal poker ring.
HOUSTON — Jalen Duren was ejected during the second quarter in the Detroit Pistons’ road game against the Houston Rockets on Friday, Oct. 24.
With 6:29 to play in the quarter, Duren delivered an elbow to Amen Thompson’s face. The Rockets guard, who is the twin brother of Pistons guard Ausar Thompson, fell to the floor in pain. It initially was ruled an offensive foul, but was upgraded to a flagrant-2 after a review.
Duren finished with six points and six rebounds in 12 minutes, and his ejection leaves the Pistons shorthanded against the Rockets’ big frontcourt of Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams. It was a foul-filled first half for the Pistons, who were whistled for 18 personals. Duncan Robinson, Cade Cunningham and Ron Holland all entered halftime with three fouls, and Isaiah Stewart had four.
