Residents in Waverley urged to shelter in place due to armed person

Residents in Waverley, N.S., were briefly urged to shelter in place Monday morning due to what police said was a dangerous person with a firearm in a home.

Residents in Waverley, N.S., were briefly urged to shelter in place Monday morning due to what police say was a dangerous person with a firearm in a home.
An emergency alert issued around 8:30 a.m. Monday said the person was in a home in the 2000 block of Waverley Road.
RCMP responded and residents in the area were being told to seek immediate shelter or stay inside and lock their doors and windows. Streets were also closed.
An alert issued shortly after 9 a.m. said the person had been taken into custody and there was no longer a risk to the public.
