Ireland ensured their historic debut at the U-17 World Cup was a winning one as a comprehensive opening 4-1 victory over Panama boosted hopes of reaching the knockout stage.
Colin O’Brien’s side made a perfect start to the group campaign as first-half goals by Jaden Umeh and Kian McMahon-Brown put them in the driving seat, before Michael Noonan and Max Kovalevskis struck near the hour mark to make sure of the three points in Doha, as they look to book their place in the round of 32.
