Lions lock up Hutchinson to four-year deal

The Detroit Lions have a new deal for one of their most important players.

The agent for defensive end Aidan Hutchinson tells NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport his client has signed a new four-year deal.

Rapoport reports the deal is worth $180 million with $141 million in guarantees.

Through seven games this season, the 25-yearold Hutchinson has recorded 16 tackles, four forced fumbles and 6.0 sacks.

A native of nearby Plymouth, MI, Hutchinson was originally taken with the second overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan.

For his career, Hutchinson has 138 tackles, four interceptions, eight forced fumbles and 34.5 sacks in 46 games across four seasons.

The Lions (5-2) host the Minnesota Vikings (3-4) at Ford Field on Sunday.
