Lions DT Alim McNeill on his excitement from returning from injury
McNeill hasn’t played since suffering an ACL injury in 2024 and is gearing up to make his return for the Detroit Lions on Monday night.
The Detroit Lions have a big game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a growing list of injured players.
The Lions are facing off against the Buccaneers at Ford Field in Detroit on Monday, Oct. 20, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Detroit is facing the NFC-best Buccaneers with a litany of injuries, especially in their secondary.
The Lions will be missing starting safety Kerby Joseph due to a knee injury aggravated during last week’s 30-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Detroit will also be without its other starting safety Brian Branch, though he won’t be missing the game because of injury, but due to a suspension from his involvement with a fight at the end of the Kansas City game.
In Joseph’s place will be safety Thomas Harper, with the second-year player making his first start with the Lions.
Much like the Lions have on the defensive side, the Buccaneers face some big injuries on the offensive side. Wide receiver Chris Godwin and running back Bucky Irving have both been ruled out of tonight’s game, while receivers Emeka Egbuka and Mike Evans are both active after entering the game listed as questionable.

The Buccaneers are getting some extra help in their passing game today.
Wide receivers Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka are active for today’s game against the Lions. Both entered the game listed as questionable with hamstring injuries.
The Lions have shared their inactives list, and left tackle Taylor Decker is not on it, meaning he is expected to play.
