The No. 8 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, Penix has completed 119 of 195 passes (61%) for 1,409 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions through six games.
In the 20-10 loss to the 49ers, Penix threw for 241 yards and a TD, completing 55.3% of his passes as he often looked uncomfortable in the pocket and was 0 for 9 under pressure, per Next Gen Stats.
Though Penix is set to face a struggling Dolphins squad, Miami’s 33.6% pressure rate for the season is higher than the 49ers’ 26.7. So, the second-year QB is likely to have some chances to showcase some improved play under fire should he be active.
The Falcons (3-3) kick off against the Dolphins (1-6) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
