Controversy always seems to be a word associated with Evander Kane, now with the Vancouver Canucks, the forward finds himself in some hot water over some recent pictures, and his on ice performance hasn’t been very inspiring either, many fans are expressing his displeasure.

“While it’s still very early in the 2025-26 season, the Vancouver Canucks need to see more out of Evander Kane starting today against the St. Louis Blues and the 34-year-old is hoping to make his mark with his hometown, especially since it’s such an important year with him, which may culminate with him hitting the open market on Canada Day.”-Jaxon

Evander Kane in the middle of trouble again, this time with the Canucks.

Caleb Kerny of The Heavy covered the recent frustration growing from fans for Evander Kane. Who has recently posted pictures with FBI director Kash Patel, when the Canucks made their trip to Washington. This isn’t the first time Kane has demonstrated his political affiliations.

“Kane hasn’t been one to hide his affiliations. Recently, he attended Donald Trump’s Inauguration when he began his second term as President of the United States. He has also been photographed with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, the leader of the United Conservative Party in Alberta.”-Kerney

Many fans on X posted their distaste for his political affiliations, claiming he’ll end up getting himself thrown off the team for these posts. However, this wouldn’t be as much of a distraction if he were actually playing well to begin with. The Canucks brought him in to score more goals, and that simply hasn’t happened yet. Not only is he not scoring goals, but he is making horrible plays instead, most recently against the Capitals.

“That was one of the stupidest plays I have ever seen an NHLer make. Evander Kane, with room to skate it out for a chance at an empty net, passed it back into his own zone. Never put Evander Kane on the ice when defending a one-goal lead. This is an all-time stupid play”-Daniel Wagner via X

It has only been a small sample size so far for Kane in Vancouver. But so far he definitely isn’t worth the headaches he causes, he needs to definitely play better and end up in the headlines for the right reasons.
