Search in Galway city for missing student

The search for a missing University of Galway student is continuing.

Searches intensified this afternoon.

Originally from Co Monaghan, Conor Harrington, aged 20, went missing last Wednesday, a week ago, around 9.20pm on or near the Salmon Weir Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge in Galway city.

The search continued today in the Galway Bay area.

A social media post by the group organising the search thanked those who had volunteered.

They called for more volunteers and said people should bring waterproof footwear and a hi-vis vests.

Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit, a voluntary group assisting Conor’s family,  has thanked all those who are supporting them in the extensive search.
