Tickets for the Mayor of London’s huge New Year’s Eve will go on sale later today. These are expected to sell out quickly for the popular firework display which lights up London’s skyline each year.
London New Year’s Eve takes place in Westminster, near the London Eye and Big Ben. The event has six different in-person viewing spots, as well as being aired live on BBC One.
The event is always incredibly popular with Londoners, and with tickets set to go on sale in less then two hours – MyLondon has all the information you need to make sure you don’t miss out.
Seeing the fireworks without a ticket won’t be possible this year, as central London will be extremely busy and there will be restrictions that stop those without a ticket getting close to the viewing areas.

There are six different viewing areas for the NYE display. Tickets for category A viewing areas – blue, pink and white areas – cost £55 or £35 for Londoners. Tickets for category B viewing areas – red, green and orange – cost £40 or £20 for Londoners.
How can I buy tickets?
Tickets will be released in two batches, with the first batch going on sale at midday on Friday, October 17. The second batch of tickets will then go on sale in November.
Tickets are only available through the event’s official ticket seller, Ticketmaster. You will be able to buy up to four tickets per person, so for bigger families and groups, another adult in the group can buy up to the same number of tickets.
Groups will need to travel to the event together. City Hall says that the main ticket buyer may need to show identification to prove the tickets were bought legally. Anyone who needs to be in an accessible viewing area can select orange when purchasing their ticket.
It is not recommend to bring young children. as London NYE is a late-night event. Any under-16s who do attend must be with an adult.
Why have ticket prices gone up?
Tickets for London’s New Year’s Eve firework display now costing up to £55 per person. The increase follows last year’s ticket hike which saw prices rise by 150 per cent in some cases. Tickets for non-Londoners will now cost £55 per person, which is an increase of 10 percent. Those living out of the capital can get a reduced ticket of £20 – the same price as last year.
In 2024, tickets rose from £20 for all, to £50 for non-Londoners. The price attendees pay depends on their viewing spot and if they live inside or outside the capital. Ticket prices have risen by ten per cent this year, ranging between £20 and £55. City Hall has said this is to help cover the increasing costs across the events industry.
