Massillon Tigers fans enjoy lead up to rivalry game with performances from cheerleaders

MASSILLON – It’s game day!

The Massillon Tigers will head to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton to take on the McKinley Bulldogs in the 136th meeting between the two teams. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Can the Tigers win a 10th consecutive game to make it the longest winning streak in the heralded rivalry?

Massillon fans from young to old have been preparing for the big game, starting with decorating the high school from floor to ceiling with signs, balloons and streamers.

The rivalry also takes place off the field with a friendly blood and food drive.

Tigers cheerleaders visited area nursing homes and schools to promote school spirit.

The Tiger Swing Band hit the town on Oct. 24 marching through downtown, entertaining city officials and businesses. Die-hard fans also lined the streets of downtown Oct. 24 for the annual Beat McKinley parade and rally.
