With just over a week left until Election Day, President Donald Trump is bashing two Democratic gubernatorial candidates in highly anticipated races in New Jersey and Virginia.
Trump criticized New Jersey Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Virginia Democrat Abigail Spanberger in a scathing post on Truth Social early Monday morning. He repeated his typical attacks toward the Democratic Party, accusing Sherrill and Spanberger of supporting transgender athletes in women’s sports, high crime and soaring energy prices.
He urged his followers to vote Republican in both gubernatorial races with nearly one week left in the campaigns.
“Why would anyone vote for New Jersey and Virginia Gubernatorial Candidates, Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, when they want transgender for everybody, men playing in women’s sports, High Crime, and the most expensive Energy prices almost anywhere in the World? VOTE REPUBLICAN for massive Energy Cost reductions, large scale Tax Cuts, and basic Common Sense!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Under President Trump, ME, Gasoline will come down to approximately $2 a Gallon, very soon! With the Democrats, you’ll be paying $4, $5, and $6 a Gallon, and your Electric and other Energy costs will, likewise, SOAR. VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR A GREAT AND VERY AFFORDABLE LIFE. All you’ll get from voting Democrat is unrelentingly High Crime, Energy prices through the roof, men playing in women’s sports, and HEARTACHE!” he added.
Energy costs have been at the forefront of the New Jersey gubernatorial race as prices continue to skyrocket. Trump has blamed Democratic policies, including supporting wind energy, as the reason for the escalating prices and has claimed that Republicans will bring them down.
Trump has frequently weighed in on the New Jersey governor race, criticizing Sherrill while boosting Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Trump stumped for Ciattarelli during a Friday night virtual rally, where he called the Republican candidate a “special guy.” He claimed that Ciattarelli would “take the state away from the radical left” and “cut your energy costs in half.”
Ciattarelli, a former state lawmaker and a one-time Trump critic, received the president’s endorsement during the GOP primary race. In an Oct. 20 post on Truth Social, Trump declared Ciattarelli as “A WINNER FOR NEW JERSEY.”
“Mikie Sherrill is the exact opposite, a stone cold loser, who will drive your Energy costs through the roof, just like the Democrats are doing all over the Country but, even more so, because she has no understanding of what she is doing. Put simply, Jack Ciattarelli will bring your Energy costs down to a new low, and Mikie Sherrill will do the exact opposite — Energy costs under her will go up by levels never seen before. Mikie has no clue as to what she is doing. NEW JERSEY, VOTE FOR JACK CIATTARELLI — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump added.
