Jillaroos v Kiwi Ferns, Sunday 1.35pm (AEDT) at CommBank Stadium
Jillaroos: Fullback Tamika Upton returns for the final against the Kiwi Ferns after overcoming a calf injury, taking over from Abbi Church, who had a dream debut last week. Olivia Higgins slots straight into the starting hooker role following the shoulder injury to Keeley Davis in the win over the Kiwis Ferns in Auckland. Other changes see Jakiya Whitfeld come from the reserves to start on the wing, moving Jess Sergis to the bench. Sarah Togatuki is the new 18th player after she came off the bench at Eden Park. No changes in Saturday’s 24-hour update with Jocelyn Kelleher and Abbi Church the players to drop out of the extended squad.
Kiwi Ferns: Coach Ricky Henry has rejigged his backline with Ash Quinlan coming into the starting side at five-eighth, adding vital experience to the team. Patricia Maliepo drops back to the reserves as a result, with Olympic gold medallist Tyla King shifting from 18th player to the interchange. One other change will see Tysha Ikenasio replace Leianne Tufuga, who has been placed in the head knock protocols. No changes in Saturday’s 24-hour update.
Kiwis v Toa Samoa, Sunday 4.05pm (AEDT) at CommBank Stadium
Kiwis: Stacey Jones has named the same 17 that comprehensively defeated Tonga last week as New Zealand chase their second Pacific Cup title. Kieran Foran will start at halfback in his final game of rugby league, partnering with Golden Boot contender Dylan Brown in the halves. Keano Kini again starts at fullback after receiving a late call-up last week, while captain James Fisher-Harris will lead an imposing forward pack.
Toa Samoa: Samoa welcome back forward Jaydn Su’A, who missed the win over Tonga with a concussion. Su’A replaces Jeremiah Nanai, who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. Jazz Tevaga is back in the starting side after coming off the bench in Brisbane, with Benaiah Ioelu reverting to the interchange. No other changes as Samoa chase a historic Pacific Championships victory.
