Xbox is currently experiencing major technical problems, preventing users from fully utilizing the platform. The issues started at around roughly 10:30am CST on Wednesday, October 29. It’s unclear if it’s impacting every single Xbox user or if it’s more of a regional problem, but it’s clear that there are thousands currently impacted.
Based on my own experience, I can say that while Xbox multiplayer is working for me, I am completely unable to access the store or Xbox Game Pass. Game updates don’t seem to be downloading either, but I can access my friends list. Mileage may vary. Xbox Support has not acknowledged the issues at the time of this writing.
Nearly 2,000 people have reported problems with Xbox on Down Detector. The number of reports continues to climb with each refresh of the page, so it’s clear that the issue has not been resolved at the time of this writing.
