Two million pounds of pork jerky recalled for potential metal pieces. See affected products.
A South Dakota company has recalled about 2.3 million pounds of Korean barbecue pork jerky sold at Costco and Sam’s Club for possible contamination.

More than 2 million pounds of ready-to-eat Korean barbecue pork jerky sold at Costco and Sam’s Club nationwide have been recalled for possible contamination with pieces of metal.
LSI Inc., of Alpena, South Dakota, recalled about 2.3 million pounds of its Golden Island Korean Barbecue recipe fire-grilled pork jerky for possible contamination with metal pieces, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Oct. 24.
The company issued the recall after getting complaints from consumers who found pieces of wiry metal in the pork jerky product, the FSIS said. The metal origingated from the conveyor belt used in production, LSI told the agency.
To date, there have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of this product, the FSIS said. Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider, the agency said.
Because the product, sold in 14.5-ounce and 16-ounce plastic pouches, has a one-year shelf-life with “best by” dates through Sept. 23, 2026, the FSIS is concerned some consumers may still have the pork jerky in their pantries.
Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it. Instead, they should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase, the agency said.
What products are included in the recall?
The recalled Golden Island Korean Barbecue recipe fire-grilled pork jerky, sold in 14.5-ounce and 16-ounce plastic pouches, was shipped nationwide to Costco and Sam’s Club stores. The products had “best by” dates of Oct. 23, 2025, to Sept. 23, 2026 printed on the side of the packaging.The pork jerky packages have establishment number “M279A” inside the USDA mark of inspection and these specific product lot codes and best-by dates subject to recall can be found here:
