Los Angeles Dodgers batter Kike Hernandez, the only one who succeeded in counterattack against the overwhelming opponent, vowed to rebound.
In an interview after losing Game 5 of the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays 1-6 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California on the 30th (Korea time), Kike looked back on the day when he was disappointed, saying, “The best thing for us now is that we will rest tomorrow.”
“We didn’t fight enough,” he said, who scored his team’s only run with a solo home run on the day. It was his day today. The slider was really good. We couldn’t even get a hit, and we couldn’t find energy,” he said, looking back on the day when he was unilaterally swayed by the opponent’s starter.

Toronto starter Yesa Badge overwhelmed the Dodgers’ batters with three hits, one homer, 12 strikeouts and one run in seven innings. The 12 strikeouts are a new World Series rookie record.
Kike said, “His main weapon today was a slider. It was really good,” he said, praising Yesa Badge’s slider.
“I can only talk about myself because I’m the only one who knows what I think,” he said, adding, “The opposing pitcher has a very high release point. The slider falls from a high place to a low zone, but when you look at the moment the ball goes out of your hand at bat, it looks like a high ball. But the ball falls. “The slider was much better than the first game, and we didn’t adjust it properly,” he said, praising the opposing pitcher’s ball on the day.
“I think the pitchers did their job,” he said. The opponent has a really good batting lineup, and he is doing everything to score. If we don’t give up a run, pitchers will have a tough game. We didn’t do our job properly at bat, and we didn’t take advantage of the opportunity properly,” he said.

As he said, the Dodgers prepare for Game 6 after a day off after moving to Toronto.
“We have to finance it and find a solution,” he said. We have to show our characters as a whole team,” he said, vowing to rebound.
He also contributed to winning last year’s championship, saying, “I think we are a more talented team than last year. We have to find a way to do it like last year. On the mound of Game 6, the right pitcher (Yamamoto Yoshinobu) will take the mound at the right time,” he said, before leaving the stadium after showing confidence in Game 6.
