The Golden State Warriors overcame a 43-point effort from Luka Doncic for a 119-109 victory Tuesday in their season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jimmy Butler led the way for the visiting side with 31 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Doncic also added 12 rebounds and nine assists to fall just short of a triple-double.
Golden State broke open the contest in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 35-25 in the frame.
Los Angeles cut the deficit to six points with just under four minutes to go but was unable to complete the comeback.
