Two-time World Series champion Devon White to throw out first pitch for Game 6

A World Series champion is likely hoping to lend the Toronto Blue Jays some good mojo on Friday.

Former outfielder Devon White is set to throw the ceremonial first pitch ahead of Game 6 on Friday in Toronto (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT).

White, 62, was a member of both the 1992 and 1993 World Series champion Blue Jays teams. He also won the title with the 1997 Florida Marlins.

Known for his defensive prowess in centre field, the Kingston, Jamaica, native played five seasons in Toronto.

He batted .330 across both championship runs, smashing two home runs with 13 RBIs.

Former manager Cito Gaston threw out the first pitch in Game 1, while 1993 World Series hero Joe Carter had the honour in Game 1.

The Blue Jays lead the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 and can close out their first title in 32 years with a victory.
