Preston were absolutely electric, and the Blades were incredibly ragged… for 10 minutes, then it all changed.

Tyrese Campbell slotted through a huge gap in the Preston defence to send Andre Brooks through to slot the opening goal from United’s first attack and then six minutes later Campbell prodded into the box for Callum O’Hare to keep his cool, skip past the last man and ram home the second.

Preston just haven’t got going since, while United have eased down a gear or two, perhaps feeling the lion’s share of their work here is done, but Lewis Dobbin’s curler seconds before the break could not have come at a better time for Paul Heckingbottom.

The Preston boss was staring at the prospect of three defeats in six days. Chris WIlder, by contrast, was looking at nine points in the same span.

Big second half in store now.
