While the official start of the NBA season is next week, rap star Megan Thee Stallion has already been spotted courtside to root for her boyfriend, former Golden State Warriors legend Klay Thompson.
The Grammy-winner made her first courtside NBA appearance since going Instagram official with the Dallas Mavericks shooting guard over the summer, sitting next to Thompson’s mother, Julie, at his team’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Thompson helped the Mavericks clinch the 121-94 victory over the Lakers while the Texas native, born Megan Pete, sat in a sleeveless white top and ripped blue jeans watching every play.
The couple made their red carpet debut at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York over the summer. The event, hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, raised funds for the foundation she created in honor of her late parents to support underserved communities.
“This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy,” Megan told Page Six at the time. “I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”
Since going public with their relationship, the two have been sharing clips of their dates on social media — from golfing, fishing and working out together to just lounging at home.
Thompson spent 13 years with the Warriors, assisting the Bay Area team to four NBA championships before moving to the Mavericks in 2024. He is set to return to Chase Center at the end of the year, when the Mavericks are scheduled to face off against the Warriors on Dec. 25.
Meanwhile, Megan has been teasing new music for weeks, and is gearing up for a Halloween show in her home state.
“Okay hotties my man gone to work now, yall ready for me?” she captioned an Instagram post on Sept. 28, a week before the Mavericks began their preseason games.
