Giant is an upcoming biographical sports drama film. Rowan Athale wrote and directed the film. The film is based on the inspiring true story of legendary British-Yemeni world boxing champion Prince Naseem Hamed (Amir El-Masry) and his relationship with Irish boxing trainer Brendan Ingle (Pierce Brosnan). The film will be released in UK cinemas on January 9th, and to build anticipation, the new trailer has just been revealed. Seconds out as we take a look.
THE PREMISE
Based on the remarkable real-life story of legendary British-Yemeni boxing champion Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed. Charting his inspiring rags-to-riches underdog tale from his humble beginnings in Sheffield to becoming champion of the world and a global sporting icon in the 1990s. The film explores the unlikely and tender relationship between Naz and his Irish boxing trainer, Brendan Ingle. And the instrumental role that Ingle played on his road to success. With exhilarating and visceral scenes in the ring. Coupled with deeply moving and intimate moments behind the curtain. GIANT is an inspiring biopic of one of the greatest showmen the sporting world has ever seen. The untold true story of the boy behind The Prince.
Amir El-Masry takes on the role of Naseem Hamed, showcasing his talents from previous works like “The Night Manager,” “Limbo,” “The Crown,” and “SAS: Rogue Heroes.”. Pierce Brosnan plays Brendan Ingle, drawing from his extensive experience in the James Bond franchise, “Mamma Mia!,” “The Love Punch,” and “Mobland.”. Sylvester Stallone serves as the executive producer of “GIANT,” lending his legendary status from “Rocky” and “Creed,” while Rowan Athale, known for “Gangs of London,” writes and directs the film.
