Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ Season 2 Teases Show’s Most Overhated Characters in New Images

Landman is officially back in the spotlight — and as usual, the internet can’t stop talking about its most polarizing characters. Ahead of the November 16 premiere of Landman Season 2, Paramount+ has released a new wave of photos teasing what’s next for the series’ most divisive stars Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph. The posts, shared across the show’s official social media accounts, instantly went viral as fans speculated about what’s next for their characters, Angela Norris and Ainsley, who bring rare levity and chaos to Taylor Sheridan’s oil-soaked Texas drama.
“What are they going to get up to in Season 2?” read the official caption from Landman’s Instagram page — a question that set off a flood of theories, memes, and passionate comments from fans who can’t decide whether to love or hate the duo.
The series follows Tommy Norris (played by Billy Bob Thornton), a grizzled fixer navigating the cutthroat world of Texas oil, but if nothing else, Ainsley and Angela bring a bit of light and laughs to the darkness.
What Can We Expect from Landman Season 2?
At the Newport Beach TV Festival, Larter opened up to Collider’s Aidan Kelley about Angela’s evolution in the new season — and why the character’s complexity is what makes her so much fun to play.
“People keep asking us about the chemistry and all that. For actors, you definitely have to find it if you don’t have it, but when you naturally do and then you put the time into the work, it’s just super magic. We took these two characters, Tommy and Angela, and found this amazing, complicated, messy love story. We love where it’s going in the second season.”
Larter also pushed back on fan criticism labeling Angela “too much,” explaining that her character’s flaws and volatility reflect the emotional cost of life in the oil business.
“I think that what’s really interesting is that you start with Angela, but then when you see the cost of the oil business through Angela’s eyes, you understand it from a different perspective,” Larter explained. “People don’t always want to dig into that and understand the depth of how dangerous that world is, but that’s the reality of working in oil in West Texas. For Angela, I’m spending my time trying to put us back together. She shows her love through food, through creating moments for her children, and she’s newly trying to get back with her ex-husband. So this is a messy time. It’s complicated — and so this character is incredibly layered.”
Landman returns on November 16 to Paramount+.
