KERRY Katona and her Atomic Kitten replacement Jenny Frost reignited their long-running feud with a series of jibes on Girlbands Forever.

The two rivals, who were both part of the chart-topping noughties band, were discussing Kerry’s departure from the group on the BBC documentary, which explores the biggest girl groups the country has produced.

The singer-turned-reality star, 45, who left the group in 2001 after she fell pregnant, was replaced by Jenny Frost, who she claimed was “handed” success after replacing her, as the band topped the charts with their first number one single, Whole Again.

Speaking candidly on the documentary, Kerry said: “I don’t know Jenny that well, I’ve nothing bad to say about Jenny because I don’t know her. But I wish her the best of luck.”

She added a frosty jab, declaring: “I mean, she was handed it [the fame]. She was. You’re welcome.”

Fellow bandmate Natasha Hamilton, 43, followed up Kerry’s comments, discussing Jenny’s arrival into the band.

“Jenny took a massive risk but that risk paid off immensely. Because she came into a band who had an instant number one and we flew from that moment on,” she said.

While Jenny herself threw a similarly icy dig back towards Kerry, who left the group after falling pregnant with her first child during her relationship with Westlife ex Brian McFadden.

“I never felt bad for Kerry because she’d made a decision,” Jenny stated.

“She had chosen she wanted to be with Brian and have a baby. So that was her path. I went for it and it worked out. Maybe she regrets leaving the band, whether she admits it or not I don’t know.”

Jenny joined the band in 2001, replacing Kerry, who was one of the original founders of the band.

Kerry left just several days before the group released Whole Again, which became a huge success, topping the UK charts for four weeks and hitting number one in 18 other countries.

The groups debut album, which performed poorly on it’s first release in March 2000, eventually topped the UK Album Charts on its re-release in August 2001 with Jenny’s vocals replacing Kerry’s.

The band followed up this success with two additional number one singles – The Tide Is High and Eternal Flame – achieving three career chart-toppers after Kerry left.

Kerry and Jenny’s comments on the BBC documentary, Girlbands Forever, took fans by surprise, who quickly reshared clips on Tiktok.

One user shared the footage with text that read: “The shade in this documentary [skull emoji]”.

FANS DIVIDED

Viewers quickly sounded off in the comments, with fans divided between the feuding pair.

One wrote: “Kerry is the most likeable and successful”.

While another commented: “They started to pop off when Jenny entered the group. She worked hard”.
