Adelaide is in for a taste of summer over the coming days, with hot temperatures, sunny days and a cooler change rolling in just in time for the weekend, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s latest forecast.
Today is shaping up to be a scorcher, with the temp climbing to a high of 35 degrees under sunny skies. Early risers will enjoy a relatively mild start at 19 degrees, but conditions will heat up quickly throughout the day. There’s no rain on the radar, so make sure to stay in the shade and be sun smart, especially if you’re heading to the Ashes test!
Tomorrow turns the heat up another notch, with a hot and sunny day forecast and temperatures reaching a hot 39 degrees. Morning temperatures will start at 21 degrees before building rapidly. Friday will see temperatures easing back to a still-warm but more manageable 32 degrees. Mostly sunny skies will dominate the day.
The weekend signals a noticeable shift in conditions. Saturday will be cooler, with a maximum of 27 degrees and a minimum of 15 degrees. While much of the day will remain dry, there is a slight chance of a light shower.
Sunday continues the cooling trend, with a top of 23 degrees and a couple of showers possible throughout the day. Rainfall is expected to remain light, but cloud cover and cooler air will create a more relaxed, laid-back feel across the city.
By Monday, Adelaide returns to mostly sunny conditions, with a pleasant high of 24 degrees and no rain expected. Tuesday mirrors this outlook, staying partly cloudy with similar temperatures, rounding out a week that delivers a little bit of everything.
The broader weather picture shows a high-pressure system drifting into the Tasman Sea, while troughs of low pressure move across parts of South Australia. A south to southwesterly flow will establish along the coast from Friday into Saturday, helping usher in the cooler weekend conditions.
