Dariush Misses Weight For The Second Time

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) just wrapped its early (and official) weigh ins for the upcoming UFC 322 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which goes down tomorrow night (Sat., Nov. 15, 2025) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
Of the 24 athletes who tipped the scale this morning, only one missed weight: long-time Lightweight contender, Beneil Dariush. The talented Iranian has been signed with the promotion for more than one decade, competing 24 times previously at 155 pounds, only missing the mark once back Aug. 2020 opposite Scott Holtzmann (more on that here).
But, ahead of his pivotal PPV main card clash versus Benoit Saint Denis (full fight preview), Dariush tipped the scales at 157.2 pounds.
Dariush vs. Saint Denis will continue on as a Catchweight bout, but Dariush will forfeit 20 percent of his fight purse to “BSD” as punishment for the weight miss.
Missing weight will not help him gain momentum in the crowded Lightweight ranks, and one has to wonder if he enters this bout with some sort of injury or illness given his generally consistent history of making the 155-pound limit.
Likely, we’ll find out tomorrow.
