AFL Draft | Pick No.11 | Xavier Taylor

Draft
Melbourne has selected Xavier Taylor with pick No.11 at the 2025 AFL National Draft.
MELBOURNE has selected tall defender Xavier Taylor with pick No.11 at the 2025 AFL National Draft.
Taylor’s 2025 campaign pushed his name up the draft boards, putting together a stellar season across Coates Talent League and the U18 National Championships. He’s one of few tall defenders in this year’s draft crop and comes to the Dees with both aerial prowess and rebounding ability.
Standing at 192cm, his height doesn’t restrict his versatility in the contest, the depth of his talent reaching across defence and attack. While having played as a floating interceptor, his more recent footy saw him use his speed to push up the ground and work on offence.
Playing for Eastern Ranges in the Coates Talent League, Taylor averaged 18 disposals and six marks and helped push his side to a grand final win, named best on ground during the premiership match with 25 disposals and 15 marks.
