Panic Button reveals that it worked with Nintendo on Switch 1 game updates for Switch 2

In a social media post today, Panic Button shared the news that it worked with Nintendo to update a number of Switch 1 games for Switch 2.
When the new system launched earlier this year, select first-party titles were patched to play even better on the console. We saw things like enhanced frame rates, increased resolution, and HDR support.
What’s surprising here is that many of these updates weren’t done by Nintendo internally – specifically New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, and ARMS. In its social media post, Panic Button said:
“Panic Button was honored to be selected by Nintendo to help update marquee games from the Nintendo Switch library. Nintendo asked us to help demonstrate new capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 system, while remaining faithful to the original games.”
Panic Button was a pretty big name during the Nintendo Switch era for some of its standout ports. The company helped bring over Doom and Doom Eternal, Apex Legends, Subnautica, and more.
