Norman Powell Injury Update: Monday 11/24/25 vs. Mavericks

Sean Barnard details the latest injury update on Miami Heat big man Norman Powell ahead of Monday night’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
Norman Powell has been ruled out for tonight’s matchup between the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks with a groin injury. He will be out without a timetable for a return after an MRI revealed he is dealing with a groin strain.

This puts a halt to an excellent start to the season for Powell. After a career-best season with the Clippers last year, he was traded to the Heat as part of the deal that sent John Collins to Los Angeles and paved the way for the Clippers to sign Bradley Beal.
Across his first 14 games in Miami, Powell is averaging 25.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 46.4% from beyond the three-point arc on 6.9 perimeter attempts per game. He logged 29 minutes of game action against the Philadelphia 76ers yesterday, finishing with 32 points and four rebounds. Powell has proven to be a cornerstone of this new Heat regime and leaves some major shoes to fill.
On the positive side, Tyler Herro has been upgraded to questionable and is expected to make his season debut after undergoing ankle surgery in September.

The Heat are off to an 11-6 start to the season and currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
Looking at the odds for tonight, the Heat enter as 7.5-point home favorites and hold -305 moneyline odds on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Mavericks hold +245 odds of pulling off the outright upset, with the game total set at 239.5 points.
