Jason Bateman Made Rare Comments About His Relationship With Justine Bateman

Jason Bateman’s Rare Comments On Justine Bateman
And you most likely know his sister Justine Bateman, who’s also an actor, as well.
Not only are Jason and Justine siblings who have maintained separate careers, they’ve also occasionally appeared onscreen together. Justine had a guest turn on the third season of the classic sitcom Arrested Development, which Jason starred in.
You may also know that, after Donald Trump won the US presidential election for a second time in 2024, Justine proclaimed the results as a “new era” and said she was “excited” about his win. Earlier this year, she took to social media to address any potential ideological divide between her and Jason.
“Anyone bringing up my brother to me for any other reason than to say you like his new upcoming show, or any of his past work, will be muted at best, and blocked at worst,” she wrote. “I’m not interested in your fantasy about some imagined conflict between the two of us over your political ideologies.”
Now, in a new interview with Esquire, Jason — who’s currently in promo mode for the smash hit Zootopia 2 — has commented on the current state of his relationship with Justine, and it sounds like things are mostly OK between the two.
In the profile, Jason admitted that he and Justine “don’t see each other a ton,” but that their relationship is healthy regardless. “There isn’t the typical ‘We see each other every Thanksgiving or every Christmas and our kids want to be together,'” he said. “There isn’t that. In a great way.”
Jason went on to describe his interactions with Justine as “the rich conversations you would have with an adult friend, not the kind of petulant back-and-forth you might have with your adult sibling.”
“We hang out, and we’re nice to each other because we respect one another as individuals regardless of the blood thing,” he added. “I’m seeing her for lunch next week.”
Well, I hope he ordered something good… You can read the entire profile here.
