Antoine Semenyo tempted by three clubs including Arsenal as Spurs face another Eberechi Eze transfer heartbreak

TOTTENHAM face a fight to convince Antoine Semenyo to join them from Bournemouth.

Ghana star Semenyo, 25, has a £65million release clause in his contract which would allow him to leave before January 10.

Spurs are one of a clutch of clubs showing major interest in the winger, who has six goals and three assists in the Premier League already this season.

But SunSport understands Semenyo would be hesitant to join the North Londoners, just as he was in the summer when Tottenham were keen to buy him then.

Semenyo ended up signing a new Cherries deal instead back then on July 1, which contains the release clause that drops down a further £5m in the summer.

It is believed the former Bristol City man would be far more tempted should an offer arrive from one of Manchester City, Liverpool or table-toppers Arsenal.

Spurs will be especially wary of Arsenal swooping for the attacker, having lost out on Eberechi Eze to their rivals in the summer despite appearing to be on the verge of signing him.

The trio have been monitoring his progress and could make a move next month.

Liverpool in particular could ramp up their interest should Mohamed Salah depart following his outburst this week.

But sources have not ruled out the possibility that Semenyo stays put for the rest of the season and moves in the summer instead.

Tottenham would love to pair Semenyo with his international team-mate Mohammed Kudus, both of whom will be Ghana’s main attacking threat against England at the World Cup next summer.

Left wing has been a problem position for Thomas Frank this term.

The Dane has tried a number of players out there including Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Randal Kolo Muani and Xavi Simons, but none have convinced.

Frank himself said last week: “It’s fair to say there is competition for that left-side role.

“But it is also fair to say there’s not been one player that put his foot down, boom, (to say) ‘I’m playing that position.”

Spurs will say a proper goodbye to their last brilliant left-winger, Son Heung-min, ahead of their Champions League clash with Slavia Prague on Tuesday night.

The South Korean, 33, left in the summer for LAFC in the MLS after ten years at the club but will address the crowd shortly before kick-off.
