Divided Reactions as Ridge Holland Opens Up About WWE Contract Fallout

Ridge Holland has taken to social media to express his frustration over his health and employment issues.
Holland injured his foot while taking on Moose during a TNA taping in Alberta The match had to be stopped and Holland had to be stretchered to the back.
The surgery to his foot was a success now he is rehabbing that injury. It was also discovered though that he had a neck injury which might require surgery in the future.
To top it all off, Holland was informed by WWE/NXT that his contract would not be extended when it expires on November 14th. WWE is covering the costs though of his rehab which could take six or seven months.
Holland wrote today: “I never thought I’d not be able to pay my mortgage. I feel like I’ve just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE. Add to that my contract not being renewed knowing that I wouldn’t be able to wrestle for 7 months. This is brutal. Yes they are taking care of the surgery and physical therapy but let’s be honest, that’s the bare minimum after what we sacrifice for the company. Plus the possibility of having to get my neck fused too.Talk about getting totally f—-d.”

Upon reading his post some followed up with their support…
This is the exact reason why you all need to unionize. Too bad Hulk was an asshole and blocked Ventura from getting it started 😞

So sorry to hear this but you’re amazing. You can do anything. Dream big. Write a list of everything you’re great at. This is a huge obstacle to overcome but you’ll do it 💫

Start a class action or a union or something, bro. Yall are still labeled as independent contractors, either fight for independence or fight for contractual stipulations.

It’s bullshit, hang in there brother, I wish you nothing but the best and I’m sorry to see that you were another one who got let go while injured

…while others were less sympathetic…
It sounds like you haven’t been saving your money. Something isn’t right here. At a bare minimum you were easily making 6 figures a year. Even after your all of your expenses, there are people with larger families getting by making a lot less than that.

Maybe you should have been better with your finances when you had an income. Lots of people get laid off every single day. It’s part of life. Sit and cry about it on Twitter or man up and take care of your family.

I refuse to believe that after so many years there you haven’t got enough for a mortgage.
