Queen Camilla has met with BBC racing pundit John Hunt and his daughter Amy to record an emotional New Year’s Eve radio show.
John and Amy co-founded The Hunt Family Fund, set up in memory of their loved ones Carol, Louise and Hannah Hunt, who were brutally attacked and murdered at their family home in July last year. The evil, premeditated assault was undertaken by Kyle Clifford, Louise’s former partner.
The special broadcast was hosted by The Queen to mark the UN International 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. It took place in the Garden Room of Clarence House.

They were joined by former Prime Minister Baroness Theresa May, who has supported the Queen in campaigning to combat sexual and domestic violence. A fundraising gala will be held to help launch the fund tomorrow evening. The money raised at the gala will assist charities and initiatives that help support and inspire young women.
The conversation will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, hosted by Emma Barnett on December 31. In an emotional interview earlier this year, John and his daughter Amy told how their family’s legacy of love had helped sustain them through their trauma and grief.

He said Carol, Louise and Hannah remained such a constant presence in their lives that he still talks to them every day, almost a year on from their deaths. He said; “From the moment I wake up, I say good morning to each of them.
“Sometimes I say out loud to Hannah and Louise, ‘girls, sorry I can’t be with you, I’m with your mum at the moment’. As I close my eyes at night, I chat to them as well. They’re very close to me all the time.”
John and Amy say they took the decision to talk because they did not want their loved ones to be defined by their deaths. Kyle Clifford fatally stabbed 61-year-old Carol, raped his former partner, Louise, 25, then used a crossbow to shoot both her and her sister Hannah, 28, all at their family home in Bushey, Herts, in July last year.
Amy says the minute Clifford left their home on the day of the incident, “my mum, Hannah and Louise became a statistic. They became victims of Kyle Clifford”. She added: “I want to breathe life back into my mum, Hannah and Louise as fully-rounded people.”

They also strongly rejected reports there were clear signs of abuse by Clifford during his relationship with Louise. Amy Said: “Did we have any indication that this man was capable of stabbing my mother, of tying Louise up, of raping Louise, of shooting Louise and shooting Hannah? Absolutely not.”.
The Hunt family have always been extremely close. In the early years of their marriage, Carol encouraged John – then a police officer – to pursue his dream of becoming a racing commentator. John, Carol, Hannah and Louise lived together. Louise ran a dog-grooming business from a pod in the garden and Hannah worked in aesthetics and beauty. Their life, John said, was “one of complete happiness – awash with it, really”.
