Following her successful progression to the next stage of Strictly Come Dancing last week, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has opened up about a backstage mishap that spiralled out of control.
The 37-year-old reality television personality, whose participation in the competition was confirmed earlier this year, is currently vying for the prestigious Glitterball trophy.
Speaking on her Get A Grip podcast with Angela Scanlon and her Strictly professional partner Kai Widdrington, Vicky revealed details of an unfortunate incident that occurred behind the scenes.
Reflecting on the embarrassing moment, Vicky described how Saturday’s dress rehearsal descended into chaos: “Saturday was just like a disaster from start to finish, I think.”

Detailing what went wrong, she continued: “Do you know my little headdress thing? So I put that on and we were dancing in the dress rehearsal and obviously there was a move where my head goes down and comes up.”
She went on: “And my headpiece just totally detached from the wig and fell over my face and I kept trying to shove it up and it kept falling back over my eyes.”

She also shared a humorous anecdote about the incident, revealing what Kai and Tess Daly had told her: “He was going ‘Continue! Carry on!’ and I was thinking ‘You (try and) do it blind’. Honestly I was so stressed out and angry, I tried to stop and he kept going and then when I was finished Tess goes ‘oh you had a bit of stress there with your headpiece’ and I go ‘my whole f*****g wig fell off!'”
Despite the recent dress rehearsal hiccup, Vicky still managed to impress last week, scoring a respectable 25 out of a possible 40 points from the judges after performing the Charleston to A Little Party Never Killed Nobody from The Great Gatsby.

Away from the BBC dance competition, Vicky first gained fame on the MTV reality TV series Geordie Shore, a fly-on-the-wall style show that followed a group of 20-plus-year-olds partying in Newcastle.
Since leaving the show, she has appeared in her own documentaries and hosted on Heart radio. In 2015, she was crowned the winner of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! after beating George Shelley.
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return on Saturday (18 October) at 6.30 p.m. on BBC One.
