Viewers finally discovered whether the Traitors or the Faithful were victorious, but as the show ended, it meant fans were left with a Traitors-shaped hole in their TV viewing.

Thankfully, they don’t have long to wait until the civilian version of the show returns.

A source told The Sun: “This year, series three started on January 1, and it was a centrepiece of New Year’s Day evening telly.

“So it’s likely it will be back then in 2026 too as it’s a huge tentpole show for the Beeb to kick off the New Year with.

“January 1, 2026 is also a Thursday, which is a night The Traitors typically airs so it makes sense it would come back then too.”

That said, the Christmas and New Year schedules will not be finalised until early December, so the official confirmation will not happen until then.

The Sun has reached out to the BBC for comment.

The final of Celebrity Traitors saw Alan Carr crowned the winner after managing to go undetected as a Traitor.

The Chatty Man has been the bookies’ favourite to win the show, after proving he had what it takes as a Traitor, having carried out two murders in plain sight during the series, no easy task.

The TV star also won the £100K prize pot, which goes to a charity of his choice.

Celebrity Traitors fans were treated to an extended 70 minute episode, which was full of twists and turns.

Winner Alan was joined in the final by fellow Traitor Cat Burns, and remaining Faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga.
