Shane Bieber’s wife roasted Blue Jays star’s outfit on first date

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Shane Bieber failed to impress his future wife with his outfit when they first met, and she even roasted him for wearing sandals.

Bieber started for the Blue Jays in Game 4 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. He only joined the Blue Jays in July after being traded by the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for Khal Stephen.

Three months later, Bieber is playing in the World Series with Toronto and was on hand for a record Game 3, which lasted six hours and 39 minutes. It’s been a whirlwind year for Bieber, who became a father for the first time in March, but his wife saw past his fashion style.

Bieber married Kara in January 2023 in Malibu at the Hevadu Vineyard Estate. They had been dating for five years before he proposed in July 2021, after meeting at an alumni weekend.

Shane and Kara Bieber attended UC Santa Barbara but met formally during a school reunion. Kara has since admitted that Shane didn’t impress her with his sense of style, but quickly won her over.

In an interview with Paradise Valley City Lifestyle, Kara Bieber said, “It was alumni weekend, and Shane was back in town.

“We had mutual friends who introduced us and instantly hit it off. He showed up in jeans and sandals, and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this guy needs a wardrobe update.'”

Kara was a keen athlete in college, playing basketball and volleyball. She has since become an influencer and entrepreneur, and is the founder and CEO of Kara Maxine LLC.

She also founded Kinlike, a clothing brand, and TELT Skincare, a skincare product company. Kara is now a mother after giving birth to Kav McClain months before Bieber was traded to the Blue Jays.

Kara announced the news shortly after the birth, but later opened up about her experience and encouraged others to enter motherhood. “Kav McClain, you didn’t just enter our lives, you rewrote it,” Kara wrote in an Instagram post for Mother’s Day.

“Every emotion, step I take and purpose I have is now altered in the very best way. My first Mother’s Day and I’ve never felt such pure happiness and contentment in my life.

“Thank you God for this family of mine. I will protect you with every part of me. To my moms, pregnant or trying, I’m sending you so much love.

“The new lens we wear bring us so much perspective. The role is ever changing, beautifully complex & demands so much strength; what it is to be a woman. Cheers to you, the mother before you & the mother you’re becoming.”

Despite being a first-time mother, Kara has continued to support Bieber throughout the MLB Playoffs. The Blue Jays pitcher is a two-time All-Star and Golden Glove Winner, but has never played in a World Series.
