Pels lose in OT to Spurs in home opener, fall 120-116

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Pelicans dropped a hard fought game in overtime to Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs defeated the Pelicans 120-116.

The Pels had three players to score over 20 points. Zion Williamson led the way for the Pelicans, putting up 27 points in 37 minutes of action. Trey Murphy added 24 points in 46 minutes. Jordan Poole dropped 21 points in his home debut with the Pelicans.

The Pels now 0-2 on the year, host the Boston Celtics on Monday, October 27 at the Smoothie King Center. Game coverage begins at 6:30 PM on the Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network.
