West Ham have ‘already expressed interest’ in player – Need to move as competition push

West Ham United may need to move quickly if they wish to sign Mamady Diambou from Austria Salzburg.

That’s according to Africa Foot. They report that Slavia Prague are showing strong interest in the 22-year-old.

They state that the reigning Czech top-flight champions are looking for a midfielder. They’ve have set their sights on Diambou ahead of the January transfer window.

He’s a player that appeals to Slavia Prague’s management. They are now hoping to strike an agreement with Salzburg for him in January. The Austrian side are open to a sale if they can secure what they dee to be a ‘hefty price’. Any sale will have to be for over €5m.

Several sides have already expressed interest in Diambou. West Ham are among them according to Africa Foot’s information. Indeed, a report back in May stated West Ham ‘want to do everything’ to sign the player.

No move happened in the summer transfer window, but the interest remains. Racing Club de Lens and Royal Charleroi are the others named. In fact, the Belgian side were in very advanced negotiations during the summer transfer window.

Now it is Slavia Prague who are keen. Whether that prompts West Ham to make a move remains to be seen.
