M5 heading out of North Devon closed after car crashes into central barrier

The M5 southbound is closed following a serious collision which saw a car crash into the central barrier earlier this morning (Monday, October 27).
Police have said the motorway is closed between junctions 28 and 30, with emergency services on scene.
Traffic watch site Inrix says there is a ‘serious accident from J28 A373 Honiton Road (Cullompton/service area) to J29 A30 Honiton Road (Exeter/Honiton)’.
Any North Devon drivers wishing to head southbound to Exeter and beyond are advised to delay their journey or find an alternative route.

Update 11.06am: Police report one lane is closed and traffic is slow on the opposite northbound carriageway due to the collision on the other side between J29 and J28
