Has Gen V Season 3 Been Renewed or Canceled?

Gen V Season 2 is in its final stretch, and there has been little news about Season 3. With the series leading right into The Boys’ final season, fans are wondering whether the spin-off series will continue after the aforementioned series ends. Fortunately, during a recent interview, the showrunner hinted at the possibility of another season, giving fans hope of more stories for The Boys universe.

Here’s what the showrunner said about Gen V Season 3.

Has Gen V been canceled or renewed for Season 3?

Gen V Season 3 is neither renewed nor cancelled. Amazon has yet to make an official announcement about Season 3, if there is any.

With Season 2, the series showcased how important its characters are for The Boys’ concluding season. However, whether these characters will survive the final showdown remains to be seen.

Interestingly, Michele Fazekas, the showrunner, has hinted at the possibility of the show going beyond Season 2. “I think there is any number of ways you could do a third season,” Fazekas told Variety.

The showrunner continued, “Our task here was launching into The Boys, which doesn’t really mean that there wouldn’t be another season of Gen V. That’s what’s great about a college show —everyone’s always going to college! But our task was to launch us into the new season of The Boys.”

Furthermore, The Boys’ showrunner, Eric Kripke, also told Variety that the Gen V “can and should continue”. He said, “I think they can and should continue. The Boys’ story is about Butcher and Homelander, and these two planets crashing into each other, and this particular story doesn’t work without both of them. And you can only keep that going for so long. So what I would say is, this particular story is ending, the Butcher-Homelander is ending.”

Offering hope for the spin-off’s future, he said, “But there can be other stories and other corners of the universe. And hopefully, it’s vibrant and perverted enough to allow for those stories. So hopefully, Gen V continues, hopefully, a couple other things we have in development continue.”

Considering both showrunners’ optimism, fans could expect more stories from The Boys universe.
